Theme 2: Action plan

An action plan serves as a map that compiles discussions and decisions into a written format. It helps the club’s leadership and board prioritize and focus on the themes and issues raised by its members.

WHAT SHOULD AN ACTION PLAN INCLUDE?

To create a clear and effective action plan, it’s important to consider the following:

  1. Assess the current situation: Begin by analyzing the club’s current state, using the results from the Learning Café as a foundation. In the guide ”Fakta på bordet” (Facts on the Table), you’ll find examples of key factors to consider.
  2. Main themes: Identify the most important areas to focus on.
  3. Concrete actions: Develop clear and actionable steps that are realistic to achieve.
  4. Responsibility allocation: Define who is responsible for each action.
  5. Timelines: Set realistic deadlines for implementing the plan.
  6. Follow-up: Identify issues that need regular review and schedule recurring evaluations to monitor progress. Reflect on what has been achieved, what remains to be done, and what adjustments are needed.

Remember to document your successes in the annual report and showcase them on the club’s website and social media platforms. An active and visible action plan not only strengthens the club’s credibility but can also be beneficial when applying for funding. You can find templates for equality and non-discrimination plans based on action plans here (in swedish).

In collaboration with the WELLcome project, the Åbo IFK sports club has developed an equality and non-discrimination plan that includes concrete and practical actions. You can review their plan here (in swedish).
